About Helideck Radio Operator Course

Total Avantgarde’s Helideck Radio Operator (HRO) course is designed for the Malaysian oil & gas sector, ensuring that participants gain the required knowledge, able to execute operational duties as HRO, and understand regulatory compliance required for safe helicopter operations. Participants are entailed to a three-day course, combining the theory classes, practical sessions, and assessments.


Participants will learn how to:

  • Conduct radio communication with helicopter pilots
  • Transmit weather information when requested by helicopter pilots
  • Manage normal and emergency communication procedures
  • Ensure safe communication practices during emergency situations
  • Record and maintain radio logs

Participants receive a certificate of competency upon successfully passing both theory & practical competency evaluations (both assessments are compliant with CAAM-approved standards and industry best practices).

  • Personnel nominated as Helideck Radio Operators
  • OIMs, Marine Captains, and supervisors
  • Helideck Landing Officers (HLO) involved in aviation communication
  • Existing Helideck Radio Operators seeking certification renewal

COURSE Duration:

Three (3) Days.

COURSE VALIDITY:

Two (2) years.

PRE-REQUISITES:

  • Experience working on offshore facilities or marine vessels
  • Adequate proficiency in English
