Emergency Response Team (ERT) Course Overview

Emergencies can escalate within seconds, making a trained and coordinated Emergency Response Team (ERT) a critical line of defence for any workplace. Total Avantgarde's ERT Training equips personnel with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to respond effectively to fire incidents, medical emergencies, evacuations, hazardous situations, and other workplace emergencies.

The programme combines classroom learning, practical demonstrations, emergency simulations, and team-based response drills to develop competency in fire prevention, incident response, evacuation management, casualty care, emergency communications, and command-and-control principles for a custom duration of either one (1) or two (2) days.


Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the roles, responsibilities, and structure of an Emergency Response Team, including emergency communication, incident reporting, and response coordination.
  • Recognise workplace hazards and emergency scenarios, and apply appropriate response procedures.
  • Support emergency response operations through safe evacuation practices, personnel accountability, basic search techniques, and assembly point management.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of fire behaviour, fire classifications, firefighting principles, and the safe use of firefighting equipment and emergency response resources.
  • Apply basic casualty management principles, including casualty assessment, CPR and AED awareness, bleeding control, fracture management, and shock management.
  • Contribute to organisational emergency preparedness by participating effectively in emergency drills, exercises, and incident response activities to protect personnel, assets, and business continuity.

Participants will receive a certificate of competency upon successfully passing both theory practical competency evaluations (both assessments are compliant with CAAM-approved standards and industry best practices).
